I have also seen very mixed reviews of DPMS as a whole, and I would love to hear your opinions and experiences with the company. Is it possible it was just the ammo causing this issue? I was using Brown Bear 55 grain steel case.

This happened approximately 10-15 times out of 500 rounds, but there were some times that I fired and entire magazine in <30 seconds without an issue. Why does this happen, and should I expect it to happen often, or is it possible that the set screws just weren't tightened properly from the factory?Īlso while at the range, there were a few occasions where I would fire one round, the gun would cycle, but the next round would not chamber. The other set screw was not about to fall out, but was also slightly loose. Tonight, while cleaning it, I noticed that one of the two set screws on the bottom of my gas block was almost completely loosened. What would you do? Also, is there a free float quad rail out there that'll clear my gas block while matching up with my existing rails? Speaking of gas blocks. I know the free float will be more expensive and slightly harder to install, but I feel it'll look better and allow the rifle to function better (especially shooting at longer distances). I want to add a free float quad rail, or just a longer quad rail handguard if possible.

So, I bought this rifle at a gun show yesterday for $780 including the optic, taxes, etc.
